Kasia Wiech is a recent graduate from the University of Florida (UF), where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Physics (Cum Laude) and a certificate in East-Central European Studies with a focus on Polish. While at UF she worked on the Any Light Particle Search (ALPS) experiment, a dark matter search that uses interferometric techniques to detect interactions of the axion, a candidate dark matter particle. In 2019, Kasia spent the summer working on the ALPS experiment in Hamburg, Germany at DESY, a German national research center. She is also the proud daughter of hard-working Polish immigrants and while at UF she served as President of Polish Student Association. In her free time, she enjoys painting and drawing.
